I always thought she had missed the boat. She should have been born a decade or two earlier so she would have been part of the Motown scene and hanging out in with the likes of Aretha Franklin. I feel that it would have been much better for her than being stuck in the middle of the disco period.
Whitney was like the gold Standard of female vocalist, if you could actually sing like her, you will have no problem convincing people that you know how to sing.
I think people are too fast at blaming drugs for her downfall, but I'm convinced that it was her toxic relationship with Bobby Brown. Bobby Brown was the one who allowed the drugs to part of the relation ship and I would bet that he was a provider. All he cared about was milking her for what
ever she was worth.
There is one thing I can say about Whitney. I seriously doubt that we will ever hear someone nail the Star Spangled Banner the way she did. Towards the end of the song, she was just tore it up. It was a piece of cake to her.
Another thing I want to mention about here that still fascinates me about her. That she had these marvellous looking lips, yet not at all oversized, but when she sang, she could open her mouth and sign out even louder with this gigantic mouth that sprang
out of just a little face. Just look at that big tongue. inside that big mouth, with that big throat behind it, just belching out those notes.
And at this point, I'm sure I don't need to mention the gigantic notes she could hit. My God, no wonder why everyone in heaven wanted her.
The gold standard.
